  1. I don't know about transit buses. I drive a school bus and there is a handle that you pull and it locks the door and you exit out the drivers door.

  3. depends on what kind of bus it is on most buses other than school buses and by buses i mean coaches there is switch on the outside of the bus that the driver can use to open and shut the door from the outside
