When the drop down menu on a photo only shows .bitmap how can I save as a .jpg or a .tiff file?

I am trying to save photos only showing a drop down menu of .bitmap.

I'm assuming this is happening when you save an image from a website...  If so, save it as a bmp then reopen the image in your image editor (PhotoShop, Paint Shop Pro, etc) then save it as whatever file type you want. If that isn't the case, please explain what program you are in to save the image and I can likely help.

That would depend on what program you are using. There may be a requirement to change the color format first.

On mine, you can just delete the ".bitmap" (by highlighting it and pressing the delete button) and then just type in ".jpg"
