Question:

When the government fixes roads?

like you know on highways when they refix the roads and redo them, how come when a bridge comes they skip over it and keep working on the road?

i have no idea what its called when they do that so can some one tell me?

  1. It's called not wasting money. Chances are that they have bridge repairs scheduled in the near future, so why repave the bridge when a month or so later they'll just rip it up again.


  2. That is the one thing I hate about when they repave the Highways. It must just take a lot of work to re pave a bridge. They'd have to protect traffic underneath and stuff like that. so yea, maybe they just dont want to spend time and money.

  3. Where I live they will do the bridges either at night or early in the morning due to traffic and liability.

Its called saving some money for the bridges for not ripping them up when they resurface the freeway.  I remember when they resurfaced 1-696 a few months later they were closing bridges and tearing them down and rebuilding, the main bridge on Gratiot they left one lane open while they worked on the other two for both sides.  If they do it that way its for a reason I would imagine.   Have a nice day.
