  1. Basically, yes.   The digital signals are in the air now if you wish to check them out.

The converter box or a DTV receiver should enable you to receive the Digital counterpart (58.1, 58.2 . . .) to the analog signal (58). The digital counterpart won't be on the same physical channel, but the system is set up to hide that fact from the end user and it really doesn't matter to the viewer anyway.

One thing to note is, many of the converter boxes do not pass the analog TV signals through to the analog TV sets. This was something the FCC overlooked in the specifications of the converter boxes. There are only about three models that I know of that have "analog pass through". This is not a big deal, if just means that when you have the TV connected to the converter box, you won't be able to receive the analog signals. One can install an antenna "A/B" switch to get around this or, just watch the digital stuff. After next February, the only analog left will be low power TV operators only.

If you have a Digital TV set, you should be OK either way.

  2. yes but they will all run Oprah reruns...kill me

  3. depends on what specials ur cable co. is running

  4. You might be able to get more but will it be any better than the c**p they show now.

  5. That depends on your cable company, I suppose. With any kind of luck, you will now be able to get "My Three Sons" reruns at 3:00 AM.
