When the plastic containers decompose into the bottom of a river can it start to come back down as acid rain?

ok so when the rain water goes into the sky does the plastic container go with it into the sky and then comes dow as acid rain?

  1. I don't think plastic decomposes.  That's why it is supposed to be recycled.  I buried a turtle that I had 15 years... 20 years ago.  Last fall I dug him up and moved him.  The container was exactly in the same shape as it was 20 years ago.  

    Plastic is  basically NON biodegradable.  So, no, plastic will not come down as acid rain, Acid rain is caused by c02 (Carbon Dioxide), from exhausts and factories, going up into the atmophere and mixing with the clouds.


  2. I don't know if it would be acid rain, but it wouldn't be good.  However some plastics can take up to 80 years to decompose.  my advice, stop throwing them in the river to try and find out. :)
