I know you get 10 bonus points for each win & Kyle & Edwards will get some decent bonus points. If Kyle or Carl doesn't win the sprint cup, will there be any upset fans because these 2 dominated all year. Thoughts. Thanks for your time

  1. If Kyle Busch doesnt win any of the next 2 races, then 12th place will be 80 points behind going into New Hampshire.

As for whether there will be any upset fans if Busch or Edwards dont win the Cup, most likely... Jeff Gordon should have won the Cup last year, and there were a few people pissed off that Gordon didnt win.

  2. If Kyle doesn't win the next 2 races, the 12th place driver will be 80 points behind.

Last year, Jeff Gordon dominated everyone until the chase. I was extremely upset that he didn't get the championship. He would have had it under the old system and I felt he was cheated. However, the chase was designed to make it competitive for the last 10 races so we are stuck with it. I bet there will be Kyle and Carl fans that will be upset if one of them doesn't end up with the championship.

  3. Eighty points, which as far as I am concerned is the leader with an early DNF, and the 12th place driver getting a top 5 or maybe even 10. It's anyone's championship once the chase begins. Blows me away that people think Kyle Busch has it in the bag just because he goes in with eight wins. He will have to drive just as hard during the chase as he has so far this year if he wants to bring it home.

  4. Well the points are reset to 5000 for the top 12 & 10 points are added for each win in the 26 races prior. So as it looks now Kyle has the top seeding with 5080 points & the 12 place driver, assuming he doesn't win a race between now & NHMS would get the standard 5000 points leaving him 80 points out of the lead.
