When the value of a player on my roster goes up will it effect my salary cap?

Example: I have 0.17 left to spend before I go over the salary cap. If my QB goes up 0.18 will this effect my fantasy points for being over the salary cap?

  1. No. His value on your team remains at the purchase price as long as you keep him. If his free agent value goes up and you cut him you must pay the new price to get him back on your roster...that is the only time it would affect your cap. On the flip side, if a guy has a bad opener his price could drop and then you can release him and add him back at the lower value so you have more cap space. If you pay attention to guys performances you can build a better team by manipulating the roster based on each guys changing cap value, but keep in mind you can get burned if you cut a guy and his cap number went up.


  2. if you get him before his value goes up it shouldn't effect you but if you get him after it might.
