  1. Don't you know how to think for yourself? How to learn about Girlpower and Feminism and then come to your OWN opinions about it?

It is NEVER good to ask other people to do your thinking for you. Never.

Make up your OWN mind, that's why you HAVE a mind.

Learn all you can about Girl Power and about Feminism, and then decide for YOURSELF whether or not you should be proud.

What should you care about angering people? You are a person too, and you have EVERY right to have your OWN opinions.

Don't be a sheep. Think for yourself. Stand up. Educate yourself. Make your OWN opinions and stop giving a c**p what other people think - let alone asking other people to do your thinking for you or to decide for YOU what YOU should be proud of.

  2. In the beginning nineties there was the idea of girls and women asserting themselves through underground music.

It was thrilling; above all I was fascinated by the Spice Girls.

For some time there were more girls´ bands than boys´groups.´Yes, this was some juvenile kind of empowerment putting the boys in place.

There are so many definitions of girl power.  I am not amused about girl gangs, riotting in the streets and beating up helpless boys, but I would be proud of a girl´s soccer team beating a boys´team.

As far as girl power means ambition, assertiveness and self- confidence it is a good foundation for girls growing up as feminists.

  3. I don't believe feminists are interested in Girl Power. They have grown beyond the girl stage. I know that some feminists have been known to raise their daughters to chase boys in the schoolyard, catch them and knock the snot out of them. I don't think this is anything to be proud of.

  4. I thought the "girl power" movement was silly, because it just empowered girls to be sexier and have more s*x, and the aim of the movement was at teen-agers.

No, I don't think it is something that a feminist would embrace.

  5. when have girls ever had power in this world??? men still try to controls us... they still make more mony than us...  they still keep us out of the top jobs runing things...  they still abuse an use us an treat us like slaves....  wheres all this girl power ur talking bout????

  6. When I think of "Girl Power" I think of the Spice Girls.

  7. thats a stumper first and foremost not a feminist, and when girl power was about i was 13 and all for it, looking back on it now though some of the role models we looked up to as teenagers like the spice girls whose moto was "girl power" showed this strength by plastering their faces over every merchandise they could, all for them for getting there £'s but have they really done much of impowering young girls, who are now women i dont think so, they promoted being loud and strong to a degree, but i dont think a real full on feminist would of found them at all appealing. five women wearing skimpy outfits, who can bearly sing on a stage in front of millions of young girls proves only one thing anyone can be famous with the right PR agent and that young girls need a source of impowerment no matter how manufactured or real it is.

but like i said im no feminist so, it aint gospel just my opinion and im sure other peoples opinions are different to mine.

    ciao
