  1. Milton Keynes is certainly in them!  The midlands are usually split into East Midlands (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, maybe some of Lincolnshire), and the West Midlands (Birmingham, Coventry, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire etc), but you can also sometimes hear mention of the north midlands (Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent) and the south midlands (Oxford, down into the Thames valley). It's basically the bit of England which runs due east of Wales and south of Cheshire and Yorkshire, until you reach the Lincolnshire coast, but not including Cambridgeshire and the rest of East Anglia.

  2. No Milton Keynes is a seperate entity. Everybody wants to go there but would never admit that they had.

  3. Midlands is the Birmingham/Leicester/Derbyshire/Nottingh... area (and a bit more besides) but you get the idea, The strip across the middle that is just about level with Wales.

We midlanders are not at all retarded as the previous poster said, we're just not quite as s****. as those southern monkeys.

  4. woo Milton Keynes! Got a lot of you lot on here ^^. Pop in my local for a pint . I live in ********** ;)

  5. Midlands comprises two regions: West Midlands and East Midlands.  Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire form part of the South East.  Northamptonshire is part of East Midlands; Luton and Bedfordshire are part of the East of England. Both these are quite close to MK.

  6. I lived in MK for 20 years and its 40 miles out side north london! But some class it as anglia or midlands, I dont get it lol. Bit of a grey area that one.

  7. I live in the East Midlands (Leicestershire). When I think of the midlands I think of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire,Worcestershire,  West Midlands , Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.  The Midlands region is approximately 100 miles in diameter in the very centre of England.

As Milton Keynes is just south of Northamptonshire in Buckinghamshire I would class it as part of the South-East.

  8. afraid so!

  9. it's a grey area, because Oxford and Northampton are officially Midlands but I'm sure their residents would rather be thought of as Southern. Many associate the Midlands with Brummies, who are, to be brutally truthful, backward and a bit retarded.
