When they talk about Palin's "executive experience" are they talking about her being mayor for 6 years?

That and the many more years of being the governor of Alaska, which is the largest state in the union I might add. Being in Alaska, she has a degree of experience with the energy problem already.

Also, I should add that Barack Obama only has 8 years in politics to back up his election, John McCain is the actual hero, and the one that will change Washington. Obama just says what he needs to get your vote.

Mayor of a town of 5000... that's about the amount of people who live on my block in Manhattan.  What would a mayor do in a town that size? I know, lower the moose population, maybe bash a baby seal or two.

Don't forget she was also a governor.  that's more experience than Obama, Biden, or HIlary, who by the way, got into office on her husband's coattails.

ha, I guess. She was mayor of a small town, and then governor for nearly 2 years, Guess she's ready to Be the next VP. McCain did it to get all the Hillary supporters. Which probably won't work, because she's pouring all her effort into Obama's campaign. I think it was a poor choice, She has very little experience, and I would not feel safe with her as a president, god forbid something happens to McCain. I feel it completely contradicts his entire message of "experience".

I think they mean the $27 million in federal earmarks she requested for that town before she moved on up to requesting $750 million in earmarks for the whole state of Alaska.

The mayor in our town doesn't do much. The mayor is in charge of the police however. Most mayors don't unless they are a mayor of a large city.  15 years ago we had a population of 50,000 and one of the jobs of the mayor was to cut the grass.  Palin could not have done much as mayor of 5,000 people.

Alaska has one of the smallest populations of all the states.  In fact it ranks 47.  She was not the governor of the snow and trees.
