  1. Socialization of your family does play a role in MOST individual’s development.   A lot of what children learn about gender roles, self-identity, and beyond are learned from one’s primary groups (like family) as a child.  Cultural transmission (passing on culturally relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values) can also be passed from generation to generation via the family.  Personally, my family played a role in many of my current ideologies: political, religious, educational, as well as relaying many of the morals that I still value (and now relay to my children).
