When to allow for a girl to wear high heels?

If you are 19, then you can answer that yourself by how you feel in them. I won't let my 11 & 12 year olds wear heels at this time because they are too excitable. I don't want them to start running around, trip and possibly break a bone. No sense in that. They can wait until they are older and act with a little more decorum.

I'd say, if you are talking about the slightly s**y, suggestive, "grown-up" kind of high heels, and not the kid kind, then whenever she has her first major graduation- middle school/junior high graduation, it would be appropriate to let her wear them. Or whenever she attends her first bar/bat mitzvah, whether it be her own or a friend's. Which is about age 13, for both occasions- graduation and bar/bat mitvahs.

Whenever she can walk in them and it is an appropriate event. Tiny short heels probably about 14. Then gradually getting taller. But 4" never. It's too hard on your feet.

OUCHIES!!! Why ever wear those things? They look really uncomfortable! Hahahahaha! But if I had a choice on when to allow my daughter to wear them, it would be after 9 at least you know!

18? Depending on how she is dressed. I would say the later the better. High heels are not good for feet.

I think it depends on the heel and where it's being worn.  I don't think heels are acceptable in middle school.  In high school I often wore heels, however they were never the open toed, ankle strap, s**y kind.  If done in a classy way I think its okay for girls to start wearing heels in high school.

I'm not sure, it depends. I was fooling around in my grandmother's old high heels ever since I was little, playing dress up.

Otherwise, as long as she can walk in them without spraining her ankle. Maybe around middle school age. It also depends on the size of the heels...

I would say 15.  You don't want to let them start to early.  Their muscles in their legs may not be ready.   It is the same idea that a child shouldn't work out on equipment (wieghts) to early because muscles aren't ready yet.

Why are high heels age specific? I would think that they make them for any age.

But on other girls i suppose its the size of the heel i guess. 16 year old kid in stripper heels is creepy...
