I am 32 weeks pregnant and I've noticed that I've been getting a lot of braxton hicks contractions lately. They are not painful but uncomfortable as my whole stomach gets hard. I decided to count them. So far, I've had 4 in 20 minutes. When should I call my midwife? My husband is getting scared... lol

Also, I've been leaking a lot more in the last couple of days. Don't know if that means anything.....

  1. you dont call you widwife if its just braxton hicks...thats nothing!

you only ring them when you are fully in labour having contractions every 5 minutes, otherwise its just a waste of time.

  2. my doctor told me to call if i had 6 within an hour

  3. if you are 32 weeks and having contractions about every 5 minutes then you do need to call now because you are to early to go into labor. the normal time that the baby is not considered preterm is 36 weeks. and leaking a lot more as in wet panties then your water might have broke so please call

  4. I would ask about the leakage, it could be that your waters have broke or some urine leakage because the baby's head has moved down, squashing your bladder.  Usually if you are  in real labor the contractions will be increasingly painful and will continue to increase in frequency. If they go away after an hour or so you are not in labor.

  5. my Ob told me that if you have 4 contractions in an hour to call him or go to L&D and if your leaking you need to go it could be amniotic fluid and that is dangerous to you and your baby it could cause infection

  6. Unless its labour, don't bother. This is my fourth baby and I have had tonnes of Braxton Hicks since 20 weeks.

  7. Call NOW don't wait.  You are suppose to report 4 or more in 1 hr and you are especially suppose to report leaking.  You will need to be checked
