When to countersteer trailer with tractor?

learning how to countersteer to scoot over to the right or left, what timing do i need, seems like i'm practicing and keep getting blind sided by the trailer on both mirrors, any suggestions or advice

It takes time to get a hang of it, don't worry with some practice you will get it. Look in the driver side mirror that is your primary mirror, whichever side the tail of your trailer is going turn the steering wheel the same way. If the trailer is going left, turn the steering wheel left, that will keep you form loosing it. When parking it helps to look out of the window.
