When to get best prices for x-mas toys?

should i buy throughout the year or wait till closer to x-mas sales,, are the toys cheaper closer to x-mas

They tend to have sales and better prices in November. Before the whole last minute shopping thing happens

Most stores have sales the week after Thanksgiving. I suggest you just save some money so when that time comes you'll be ready and not exactly shopping at the last minute.

Stores usually have deals during the week before Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving.  Also they will sometimes have a sale a few days before Christmas for those last minute shoppers.  But sometimes a few stores will have a Christmas in July deal as well.  You just have to get the Sunday paper and look at the sales.

It depends on what it is. If it's a hot toy for the year then the day after Thanksgiving is best....followed by the weekend before xmas (alot of times things will be sold out but they'll get a new shipment about a week before Christmas) If it's basic kind of things you should look for sales throughout the year. Toys R Us for example starts having buy 1 get 1 free sales starting at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. Personally I'm a fan of the clearance aisle. You can get all kinds of stuff alot cheaper that way. (Recently my daughter saw a barbie she was just dying to have...it was already on clearance but I went back to get it and they'd marked it down again...A $30 barbie for $6! Not too bad....and it had a necklace for her too!) I also like to get things through the year so that I don't get hit with all those expenses at once. I always have a bucket where I keep stuff I've found.
