HI, we have been trying to get pregnant and have been off the pill for 7 months. The last 2 weeks we have been making love every day without protection. My last period started on 8/19/08 and ended around the 24 or 25th. after like 1 or 2 days we start trying and been trying every night. I dont know when i ovulate or how to know that either (:) today is the 4th and i guess i should be getting my period around the week of the 14 (i dont usually control my periods but they are pretty good like 28-30 days) i am not sure when i will be able to tell by taking a test at home or how does it work. i have heard of implantation bleeding and other stuff but just will like to know more input so i can wait with more hope and knowledge at hand :) we have an 8 year old but it seems so long ago i dont remember how it was and i will apreciate anyone that can tell me how long until u start feeling different things and how to go about it. the one with my son i know i was sick every morning but that was after i found out i was pregnant. Please let me know your opinion and i appreciate your knowledge and time :)

  1. Devide the days your period is appart like say mine is 28 days so I ovulate the 14 day-16 day. Sperm lats 72 hours so you can have s*x up to 72 hours before you ovulate and still get preg. You can also take your basel temp with a basel thermomoter. Take it the day after your period is over. From there you know your normal temp. When your ovulate your temp goes up a few degrees so take your temp again within the time you think you think your ovulating (try a day or two before so you dont miss it). You can check 5 days before your period (or they call that AF here for some reason...) on a hpt but a blood test is usually the most accurate. You can always have a false neg on a hpt but never a false pos. Good luck and best wishes!!

  2. By my calculations you would have only just ovulated and conception may have only just happened in the last day or so.  A pregnancy test wont work for at least another two weeks, depending on how your body responds to pregnancy and your hcg levels.

Just for future reference, if this isn't your month keep in mind that having s*x everyday does not improve your chances of pregnancy.  Sperm need at least a day to replenish, so every other day would be ideal!

Good Luck I hope this is a good month for you!

  3. Go to this site: http://www.babycenter.com/ovulation-calc...

It tells you when you are ovulating based on your last period. Take your HPT the day after your missed period--taking it too early can just be depressing when you are really wanting that BFP--trust me!

    GOOD LUCK!!
