Question:

When to move and how to know?

I am brand new to this. here's my question: We saved and want to move up, house-wise. Our house is small and needs to be fixed. We found another small house, but it is all fixed. It's close by and has two baths, as opposed to one. But, the kitchen is small...but fixed! In our expensive neighborhood, it seems like we will always be behind the 8 ball, so maybe this is good.

The things it's missing are that I would've liked a bigger kitchen (and can get one, but this keeps my commute short and my hubby's not bad) and I prefer hot water heat, but this has hot air (but also has central AC).

You see, the real estate agent who sold us this house said that we should fix it up, but that will cost much, much more $$ than moving. This house that we have found is not perfect, but we can think of 4 or 5 problems it will solve in our lives immediately.

Feedback, please.

  1. I would sell the house I am living in, before buying the new house..

  2. moving up is a social thing but have you determined if you can

sell your house for what you paid plus what you put in it?

next time you are ready to buy, along with the house, investigate

the sellers of home maintenance or home appliance insurance

policies.  I have read about them and studied them in our

    RE classes.

I did not buy one and had to replace an AC unit the week after I bought an apt complex.

I know another man who bought such a package and

needed a repaired refrig.  He could not get it repaired

    so he got a new $1,000 refrig.........for a $450 annual

    policy.  NOT bad.
