When to neuter female cat?

Question

My kitten is 5 months old and I am planning to have her neutered. My question is about timing, I understand that she could conceive around 6months. We have a holiday booked for the start of October for 2 weeks when she will be cared for in a cattery. Should I wait until we return (meaning she will be 7 months when we leave) or have it done asap so she can be fully recovered with the wound healed? She does regularly go outdoors
