For the first time this year I have taken the seeds my daylillys try to give me each year. I would like to plant them but am unsure of when, or if I should start them inside or out. I am in the North.

  1. i would plant them in the fall and let them winter over

  2. Daylily seeds can be tricky. Usually daylilies are propagated by dividing the roots.

If you want to give it a try, plant the seeds now and leave the pots outside over the winter. They seem to like frost and may germinate in the spring.

  3. I live in Wyoming and I start my seed indoors. Once all chance of frost or snow (in my Case as we sometimes get snow in May) usually around Memorial Day passes it's usually safe to plant thing outside. Make sure your seedlings are at least 6-8 inches in height.
