When to start teaching your baby to wash hands?

My daughter has been brushing her teeth three times a day and washing her hands now on a stool since her 2nd birthday. Is that the correct age to begin these things?

She also says, thank you very much, your welcome, bless you, I am sorry. She is quite polite.

  1. Yeah, it sounds like she is doing great.  I started my daughter on the handwashing/brushing teeth herself around 18 months (she's a very independent type who wants to do EVERTHING by herself!).  My son is now 15 months and sort of brushes his teeth himself (I still have to finish up for him), he wants to do whatever his sister can do.  We haven't started the handwashing for him yet though, just wipe his hands with baby wipes  :)

  2. Hehe.. That's so cute!! Aww.. Well, you can teach them anything as early as possible. My parents taught me around that age so many things as well, and I was able to catch up with everything, according to my mother. :)

  3. thats awesome ,some kids take forever to learn that

  4. It's never to early to begin personal hygiene. If she can correctly wash her hands and brush her teeth, great job. I babysit an almost 3 year old, and it's a struggle to get her to brush her teeth correctly and wash her hands. So great job!!

  5. manners and brushing teeth are right on track! in the baby room where i work, we start washing their hands as soon as they can keep their heads up on their own! :)

  6. ~She sounds like she is right on track!

    Good job Mommy!

  7. sounds like a really smart kid.  good job.

  8. She's right on target, your doing a great job..it's nice to see kids with manners.

  9. thats great

  10. That is great. The younger they learn the better
