  1. before i switched to canidae all life stages i always switched my puppy to dog food at 18 months

  2. At a year...but I would ask you vet but not before a full 12 months.

  3. You can make the change when the dog is at a year old, but make the change slowly, mixing the food until it is just on the new food.

  4. It varies based on breed. For most it is 18 months, but for giant breed dogs, they shouldnt be fed puppy food ever.

  5. Depends on the breed, and in fact the diet you're feeding. If it's a decent brand it will tell you on the packet when to switch to adult food, but it won't if it's a crappy supermarket brand.

Usually it's around a year old, or 18 months for Giant Breeds as they don't stop growing til later on. Basically the dog needs to be on puppy food until he's done most of his growing. If you get him neutered before a year old I think it's preferable to switch to adult food a couple of months after neutering as it slows their metabolism down.
