When to travel for students?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in university and am planning an all-inclusive Caribbean trip with my friends.

We can't go during christmas break or reading week so we want to go after exams or before school starts.

After exams: Last week of April, first week of may

Before School: First week of September

Has anyone traveled to all inclusive resorts around these times? Is there a good volume there? What kind of people are there? Mostly old? Mostly young? We were thinking of going Caribbean for sure around Cancun, Cuba or Dominican Republic.

  1. Excellent time to go, end of April, first week of May. My favorite time to travel. First week of September is tricky because it's the worst month for hurricanes. (June 1-Nov 30th)

It's hard to say how crowded the islands will be. There used to be a slow season but now (except for Sept) tourists are going all year, whenever they can get the time off. We have traveled most of the months and you run into a mixture of singles, couples, families, seniors all the time.

The ABC islands are out of the hurricane belt, they are okay for Sept. (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) Weather is unpredictable. You never know when those hurricanes or bad tropical storms will hit. The DR and Cuba just got hit with a tropical storm and they got tons of rain.

We always take out travel insurance when we travel during hurricane season. Better to be prepared. The up side is the resort rates are the best during that time.

If you are looking for spring break type of vacation, that runs from mid March through April. In Cancun the party continues all year round.

Never been to Cuba. DR and Cancun great fun and decent all-inclusive resorts.

    Enjoy and have fun)
