im quite confused on how to use it correctly.

  1. it's not grammar, it's vocabulary so there is no rule for them

    context only


  2. to: show movement toward something. I go TO the movies.

    in: 1) show location (inside something). The pen is IN my bag.

    2) for months (IN August), seasons (IN summer), years (IN 2008)

    3) IN the morning, IN the afternoon, IN the evening

    at: 1) shows location I'm At home.

    2) shows time (clock) AT 6 o'clock

    3) AT noon, AT midnight, AT night

    on: 1) over and toughing something, The cup is ON the table.

    2) days of the week, ON Wednesday

    3) date ON 9th of September

    4) On the radio, ON TV

    for; 1) something set to belong to someome/something. The answer FOR your question

    2) time of having/doing something from the beginning to the end (usually coming with Persent Perfect verbs). I have been teaching English FOR 5 years.
