  1. ferry sucks. c**p seats and its old. it has a bar tho.... which is also c**p actually. time is an issue. the ferry takes at least 3 hours and the plane takes 20 mins

  2. Ferry is cheaper about $NZ39 single ticket as against $69 by 4 seater plane. You will see a lot from the ferry & you will even pass my house, I'll wave to you haha!!

  3. I havnt been on the ferry myself but Ive heard its amazing.

  4. I'd fly, I paid something $69 and it was over in 30 minutes, as appose to pay the same or more and it taking hours!

  5. if time is not an issue then i'd definetly recommend taking the ferry. its beautiful through the sounds and you'll probably see dolphins. Taking the ferry is an experience in itself and the fact that its cheaper is a bonus too :-)

    enjoy

  6. I have done it a lot...yes its nice, espcially thru the Sounds....BUT please if you get seasick take something as it can get quite rough and even if its not rough the swell is good enough to cause you to fell unwell. I try to go to sleep in the middle hour ( over the strait) so that helps......

Anyway to summarise, it is a nice trip in terms of views etc ...but you can get sick if you don't have a good stomach ( I don't!)
