  1. Def not! In Vietnam nearly everyone speaks English and sign language goes a long way, and even more so in Thailand, I mean you come across a few people who don't,but its no need for an interpreter! learn a few useful phrases like, Hello, can I take your picture, sorry, thanks you, i do not understand. These go a long way! or ask someone a local phrase, people warm up alot more when you make an effort!
