When two babies are born sick or premature and one is a boy and the other girl,why is there more possibility of the girl surviving?

  2. Scientists and doctors are not sure exactly why girls have a better chance of survival, but anyone who has spent time in an nicu knows this is a fact, especially for micro-preemies. Girls appear to be more developed when they are born, especially the lungs. Many preemies die from lung problems.

    When my son was in the nicu the wimpy white boys - as they were known - definitely had the toughest time. Luckily, my son is extremely healthy now.
