  1. Quotations are for songs/short stories/poems.

My teachers have always preferred underlining for book titles.

  2. Either.  Some teachers prefer italics and some quotations.  I've found that mine prefer italics, usually.

  3. According to AP style, you put quotes.

According to Chicago Manual of Style, you italicize.

I recommend italicizing. It's more common, and Chicago Style is the standard for publishing.

  4. Italicize. Titles of poems, short stories, and songs are put in quotations. Titles of books, plays, works of art, and the names of ships, planes, and trains are italicized.

  5. You can do either, but generally it's italicized.

  6. You put quotations around the title of a song, etc. For the title of a book, you can italicize OR underline.

  7. You can Italicize, or underline.  Quotations are used for short stories, magazine articles, and poems.
