  1. all emotions start out just spiritual/mental, but if u feel an emotion very strongly, it triggers different effects on u physically...like if i'm really upset, i'm really tired, my stomach hurts a lot (also when i'm really stressed and nervous), and i have trouble concentrating...and i think those are all common ways that sadness can take control of u physically but i'm no doctor so i'm not positive

  2. Emotions are connected to the mind and body, and need both to occur.

The mind-body is a pair, emotions are by-products of the mind-body.

For instance, sexual thoughts give rise to physical changes within the body.  Or conversely, stimulating the body sexually gives rise to sexual thoughts.  In either case, emotions rise as consequences of thought and physical sensation. They are not independent.

Can you imagine thinking a sad thought and being happy?  No: sad thoughts give rise to sad emotions.  Can you imagine the body feeling light and joyous in the midst of sadness? No: the body will feel heavy and sick.

This is why the spiritualist practices emptying the mind.  The mind becomes clear, thus peaceful; the body remains at rest; and emotions vanish.  This is the equanimity of the sages.

  3. That feeling is gloom, and it weighs heavy because it sucks all hope from your heart. Your heart needs hope sure as it needs blood.

  4. That feeling of depression, that darkness is very traumatic. It is pain that affects you mentally. It drains you. Have you ever lost something you loved, that meant the world to you. Have you experienced a broken heart from a lover. Were you ever verbally tormented or someone did something to you that got you so angry. The effect these situations have on your emotions...sends a energy through you. It surges in you....and it becomes a battle in you for control. It sends a reaction in your body...your heart may beat faster..or slower. You may gain appetite or lose. But emotions causes a physical reaction in us. It is both mental and physical

  5. Often times, when you feel depressed, the psychological aspect of it can manifest itself into physical symptoms.  Most of the times it's digestive problems-upset stomach, diarrhea, vomiting, etc.-along with a feeling of fatigue.  I think it has something to do with the chemicals in your brain that cause the depression causing physical symptoms as well.

  6. Yes. I think the term 'heavy heart' or 'sinking heart'' was coined to describe that  feeling when you do feel something happening physically inside you. Although depression begins from the mind, it does manifest itself physically. Like you suddenly feel fatigued when you wonder what is the point of it all. And the reverse is true too, isn't it? Your eyes do seem 'lit up' and you can't stop smiling when the love of your life walks into the room. Or you can 'see' the chemistry between two strangers on the street.

  7. I would like to answer all your questions but it would take much details so Please go and read the book called "The Power of Now"  by Eckhart Tolle.  It's one book that made a big impact on my life from compared to just reading other same ol motivational books.  This book will explain why you're feeling the feelings both good and bad.  PLEASE GO READ IT AT A LIBRARY IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY OR YOUR LOCAL BOOK STORE AND JUST READ.  You will thank me later.

  9. Feelings that release chemicals in your body. Don't know anything other than that.
