When u scratch on the 8 ball do u have to hit it to lose or just scratch with out hitting it?

If you scratch an 8-Ball you lose, if you just hit it, then its still okay.

if you scratch on the 8 ball then you lose.

If you hit the eight ball at the wrong point in the game and it makes it into the pocket...you lose.

If you hit the eight ball into the wrong pocket...you lose.



If you scratch when attempting to hit the eight ball in...you lose.

So negative lol.  Some good news: If you manage to hit the eight ball but miss any pockets with both the cue ball and the eight ball...game is still on!

Im guessing you mean 8-ball pool aswell yes? and not 9-ball?

in 8-ball.

-if you scratch without hitting the 8-ball you dont lose

-if you scratch and hit the 8-ball you dont lose

-if you pot the 8-ball then scratch, you lose

-if you pot the 8 ball before potting all your table colours/patterns (red, yellow/spots, striped) then you lose.

in 8-ball pool, you can pot the 8-ball in any pocket providing it is your last ball on the table.
