When updating my ipod...?

The songs that ARE currently on my ipod that work - but are NOT working on itunes (displaying "the song... cannot be used because the original file cannot be found..."), when i next plug my ipod into itunes to update it, will i lose those songs on my ipod?

if u dont wanna lose ur songs, go to iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Syncing & check "Disable Automatic Syncing" n click ok...ur iPod wont sync n u wont lose ur songs..!
