Should you backslash where there is a new line? example: “A sound magician is a mighty god./ Here Faustus, try thy brains to gain a deity"

Or should I leave it like this?

“A sound magician is a mighty god. Here Faustus, try thy brains to gain a deity

  1. Yes, the purpose of the slash is to show where the poetry lines break without having to use up so much space.

  2. Doesn't really matter, it's just an essay.
