  1. I use corn both ways... Sometimes a single kernel, sometimes I cover the shank and all, sometimes just enough to cover the bend.

When I'm using corn, it seems like the fish catch on, so I bring along other baits like bread and hotdogs to switch it up on them.

I'd look for any underwater structure, drop offs, overhanging tree's, and points.

  2. Worms would be a better bait if you are fishing for trout, or Berkley power bait....   www.troutlet.com

Something to keep in mind when you are fishing using corn - it kills trout,  they can't pass it thru their digestive system so if they eat a few kernels it usually clogs up their digestive system and they die a painful death.   Don't believe me?  When / if you opt to use corn and you catch any fish - look at the hole where you stick the knife to gut them - if it is all red and swollen - when you gut the fish there is mostly likely loaded with corn.

Berkley Power Bait has a good yellow corn scent - that doesn't kill them.  Some states outlaw the use of corn for this very reason...

  3. When I use corn to fish for carp I cover the whole hook except for the barb and a little bit under the barb.I never use it for anything else and I never fish in streams/brooks.My guess is fish the pool area for a little while first. There might be some fish relaxing or waiting for something to float by them.If not try the rapids.

  4. I just use one.  The trouble with my grandson is he would rather eat corn than fish.  Usually the fish hang out in shady pools.  Good luck and have fun.

  5. If you are fishing for carp, cover the barb, if they feel the barb, they will drop the bait.
