  1. I don't think port scanning does that, but it could be a man in the middle attack, where someone is trying to come between you and the internet to sniff your traffic and spy on your activities... I don't really know how to prevent this besides encrypting your connection using SSL or try contacting your ISP to see if there is another kind of problem.

Also even if you know the IP of this person to block them it is really easy to spoof IP addresses, so that would not be very reliable.

  2. answer is yes, you are been port scanned. create a rule so the ip address is blocked quietly and it wont ask you again

  3. you need to incript your network. meaning you need to set up the wireless so that the users have to enter an SSID code...which is just a password you create. you have to set this up or people will try to use your free internet. it''s bad becuase if your buying things online or paying bills online they can easily acess your credit card info and account numbers even if they aren't really trying to scam you...the info is there for the taking.

anyways who is your company that makes your router? mine is  netgear and they had a help line to call and walked me through the whole securing the network thing. try looking for a contact number on the box or website.

    hope thishelps
