When using quotes in an essay, do it italicize the quotes or just leave it normal?

for a book report... quoting from certain pages

  1. You are supposed to use the quotation marks: "...".  And then after the quote you need to cite the pages of the book where you got the quote.

    ex. "This is the way things are." (pg. 68).  

    --Never use italics in quotes.  Just copy the quote the way it is written in the book.
