When using sky do i need to be paying Virgin for the actual connection to the arial in the wall?

I have paying for this ever since November 2000 and they have told me (Virgin) that i need it but i don't know anyone else who pays them for the underfloor cable connection.

Sky comes from a dish on the side of your house.

Virgin/NTL comes from a cable.

Maybe you have your phone line with Virgin? I believe Sky boxes need a phone line (I could be wrong on that...)
