  1. Just use them on the front and you should be okay.


  2. All 4 is better for control and braking in deep snow...depends on what conditions you'll be facing.

All four.  You want all tires digging through the snow to get traction on the pavement.  This gives you the best grip for turning on snow and ice.  I have been using a set of Bridgestone Blizzak tires on my Ford Windstar for about 9 seasons.  Best money I have spent for my safety.  Tires, rims, and hub caps set me back $500.  My deductible is $1000.  The tires have saved many times from being in an accident.  That puts me money ahead.  The difference in grip is simply amazing.
