bumgenius is nice bc you dont need an additional cover to protect from leaks. you should wash the whole diaper each time. i know that the 3.0 has 2 inserts, one for newborns and another for when babies start to wet more.

you are supposed to wash the whole thing with each diaper change wet or dirty
