your passport and local id should be enough. make a copy of your passport, and carry that on you at all time. Leave your real passport in a safe spot.

i have travelled to and made a film in Brasil - and whether you go as a tourist or for work - you will need your passport - and a visa, which you get from your closest Brasilian consulate. it can be done next day if you go in person, otherwise allow time for the mail.
