When wakeboarding do you have to have the tow rope hooked up higher?

We have a ski and fish boat, and we dont have one of those top metal frames with a little hook on top and we are looking to start wakeboarding. Do you have to have one of those metal frames, because we have a spot to hook up the rope but its not one of those tope things.

You don't need a tower. The only reason you will need a tower is if you want to get higher into the air. Once you get good and start doing tricks, if you want to get higher I wouldn't buy a tower and then add it on. One, a tower is real expensive and it is easier to just sell your boat for a wake boat that comes equipt with towers. And two, because wakeboats transfer the wake to a certain spot so that it makes the wake higher causing you to get even more air.
