When was Amarnath Cave made & how many persons worked for how many years ?

Amarnath Cave was discovered by a shephard Shri Bota Malik about two hundred years ago & when it was found that in July, snow formation takes place for 2 to 4 weeks of inverted Gaussian shaped, people started worshipping it calling it lingam for 150 years. There is no further correct & authentic record of that. It is a fact that Gujjar & Bakkarwal shephard families know best about higher reaches of mountains in Kashmir who live there in summer in caves(natural as well as artificial ones made centuries ago) or similar shelters made by them using tents along with their livestocks. They know actual mountain routes in detail. When some cave is left for long time, natural grownth of trees cover them partly or fully. Sometimes earthquakes too result breaking of rocks of loose mountains making some shallow natural caves but this one is not so & is considerably deep one probably made by large number of human beings by ancient methods when technologies didn't exist. It is not known how many years did it take for its formation along with two adjacent dome shaped cavities out of which has the snow lingum just below that formed by water drops falling from cracks of its roof. Shri Bota Malik discovered that accidentally. Before that there is no mention of that anywhere. Can anybody clarify with correct & authentic information ?

Amarnath Cave is named after Mount Amarnath (5,486m a.s.l.), where it is located nearly 4000 m high. Because of this height, the cave is covered with snow for most of the year. Only for a short period in sommer, the entrance is accessible. The cave is an ice cave, it contains a certain amount of ice stalagmites.
