When was DOCS established in NSW?

when was the Department of Community Services established in NSW Australia?

I've looked everywhere and can't find a particular date that DOCS was established. There are various child welfare protection charters that were introduced in about 1962 but they were governed by the Child Welfare Department (which now no longer exists but may have just changed name.... like the Department of Social Security which changed its name to Centrelink some time ago).

I can only suggest phoning the Department of Community Services and asking them directly.
