  1. yeah the 90's.  I remember watching some cartoon tv show they had when i was little. Around 95-96

  2. That last answer is the most correct. D&D has reached an all time level in popularity. Due to the internet letting it being easier to arrange games with players over a wide area. The RPGA network also has given the feasability to standardize character creation. Allowing a player to play his characxter anywhere, and DM's have an ability to see if a person is "Fudging" their chatacter. The cartoon the guy spoke of was in the 80's however. I know because I was in 6th grade when it came out. Another good point is that the social stigma has been lessened. It never mattered to me. As a 6' tall black guy from Camden, NJ (poorest city in America), and an Collegiate all American Basketball player, I broke the stereotype of a gamer from day one.

  3. The mid to late 1990's.

  4. Depends on how you define 'most popular'. In terms of total number of players, I'd agree with the others that it's right now. In terms of percentage of all role-play gamers, have to be mid-70's (mainly because it was the only game in town.)

  5. Actually D&D is at its highest numbers worldwide today thanks to a change in marketing strategy, a decline in social stigma, and the surge in fantasy movies at the box office.  You can see the effects in advertising (think Alltel wizard) and print ads as well.  It's a good time to be a gamer.
