  1. Well, he started his major league career as a Texas Ranger outfielder (playing all 3 outfield positions) in the year of 2002. He never finished a season in which he played in 39 games (Indians;2003) or ABs(136;Indians 2003). He finished his first full season last year, which qualifies as his first full season, otherwise known as his rookie season. It is nice to see him come thru this year though, turning the Cards into surprising contenders.

  3. He actually had two rookie seasons.  Since he didn't have more than  130 at bats or was on the active roster for more than 45 days in 2002 he was still considered a rookie in 2003.
