  1. after USA,darling, after .....

  2. 1867 was when four provinces united to form the Dominion of Canada.

  3. Canada was established by the English in 1610.  In two years the Newfoundlers will be celebrating their 400th year anniversary...go to yahoo.com and enter Canada...you should be able to find all the information you need...

  4. The british passed the British North American Act in March 1867 which created the Federation of Canada.

  5. In 1867  - right after the Americans finished killing themselves in their Civil War (which was a little more than 50 years after we booted them out of Canada for the last time.)  Anyway, after....dahling... after..

(Funny looking at that...how can a war ever be called civil?)

We've had over 140 peaceful birthdays ever since. We call it Canada Day on July 1st. Before 1967, it was called Dominion Day (when Canada was formally a Dominion of the British Empire.)

Prior to 1841, two of the colonies which eventually created the Country of Canada were called Upper Canada (Ontario) and Lower Canada (Quebec). In 1841, these 2 colonies were combined to form the Province of Canada. So the name Canada was in general use many years before the country of Canada was born in 1867.

  6. 1867

  7. July 1st, 1867 now they call that day in Canada "Canadian Day"
