  5. When you use the term Earth, it is important to know the Earth as we know it today didn't start out that way. Even at 5 billion years or so as we feel the Earth began to become Earth. Somewhere along the line we are almost certain, The original Earth was hit buy another Planet causing the original Earth to be annihilated and form again, Thus or Moon and Earth were formed. We are pretty sure our Moon was part of the original Earth and not an object picked up from space like some other planets moons.

When we talk of Earth's birth, it is a very tricky Question with no right answer.

The Particles to form Earth and the pieces to put the earth together started at about 15 billion years ago, if you believe in the big bang. Millions of stars had to be born and die to make the elements to form Earth. Many collisions had to start to form something round to start the original Earth. There is no set time of when the Earth formed. It is still forming every day in front of your eyes.

  7. 5 million years ago

  8. 5 billion years ago

  9. About 4.5-billion years ago.

  10. millions of year before

  14. In 2001, an international team of scientists announced the discovery of crystals of the mineral zircon that they determined to be 4.4 billion years old. Zircon, made up of the elements zirconium, silicon, and oxygen, is a hard, long lasting mineral that resists erosion and weathering. Through chemical analysis of the zircon, the scientists determined that liquid water probably existed on Earth's surface when the crystal were formed. They concluded that Earth's crust and oceans may have formed within about 200 million years after the planet had taken shape.
