  1. i think a BAe Hawk or typhoon created the boom wen going into a dive. i heard this recently

  2. used to hear it over bristol with concorde.

they cruised sub-sonic untilthey got to the coast to minimise the sonic boom people had to put up with.

  3. Military aircraft are going to do that pretty much whenever they feel like it and not ask you. However, fighters are smaller and they are going to be higher or further away most of the time.

  4. i don't know but i remember ages ago a volcano called Krakatoa and i think it was the loudest sound recorded. it was so loud that i think it should of been heard in southern UK. so loud it was heard in Australia and as far as the island of Rodrigues near Mauritius (approx 3,000 miles or 5,000kilometers) away. that includes some parts of Brittan

  5. In Cornwall we heard it every time Concorde approached landing from the USA.

  6. Twice daily for those of us who live under the flight path, when concord when out and returned.

You didn't realise how annoying it was until it stopped happening!
