    The man who made Ken and Barbie named them after his children!!!!


  2. Barbara Millicent Roberts was the person that invisioned the doll,and Mattel launched Barbie Monday March 9, 1959 at the New York Toy Fair.

    Barbara named the doll after her daughter, and two years later, came up with Ken which is named after her son.

    The rest is history.
