  1. Signed (by 117 countries) in 1982

Gives each country exclusive fishing and mining rights in waters extending to 200 nautical mi (370 km) from its coast.

EDIT: Currently, 145 countries have signed onto the Law of the Sea, including every other member of the U.N. Security Council. I will get back to you on exactly which countries signed

    Here is the map:

    Dark Green: Ratified

Light Green: Signed, but not yet ratified

    Grey: Did not sign

  2. Of course, UNCLOS is about the territorial waters... deep seas... exclusive ecomomic zone... baselines.... limit miles.... navigation passage... and a lot more about  seas... The signing was way back 1982 or 1986.  This is the longest case ever!!!!!
