  1. The word Cancer as you may know comes from the Greek where the Greek physician (Hippocrates) used the Greek word carcinos and carcinoma to describe tumours. This was a little earlier than the 50 or 60's, in fact it was around 300B.C.

    Ofcourse cancer itself has been around a lot longer with the world's oldest documented case of cancer steming from ancient Egypt, in 1500 b.c.
