When was the earliest cold front in Texas recorded-August or September? What did the Temperature get down to?

I just love the fall....and I am not really sure when or about when we get our first "cold" front. I am talking about temps falling to the low to mid 70's for highs. Even the mid to upper 60's would be AWESOME!! I cannot wait until fall! I am ready to decorate and love to wear fall clothes for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
